Dear Ed & Marischka
Thank you so much for a superb stay. Your hospitality has been outstanding. I would definitely come again. The location is perfect, the opportunities for activities difficult to match anywhere in the world and all from a base where one feels genuinely at home with the daily anticipation of the wonders of Marischka's cooking (and ofcourse Ed's support!!)
Kids learnt to ski to be able to not crash on red runs in 3 days!
Thanks Will Penrice

We found this magnificent spot on internet. All we knew was that is was close to Chamonix ski resorts.
Booking through internet always represents a risk of making a scuba error, but also an opportunity to discover a jewel. The latter we did.
We found the rooms exceeding our expectations with modern bathroom facilities wich is a big +
A very cosy living room and sitting in front of an open fire after a fantastic day in one of the nearby ski resorts really makes the day.
But what really makes this guesthouse special is Marischka and Ed - providing excellent service at all times. However we have to emphasize that you should indeed stay here to eat.
The dinner is what you always search for: home made with an explicet taste.
Your guesthouse will be higly recommended.

We have enjoyed our stay immensely. This place you have built (or re-built as it were) is beautiful and we really did not want to leave our view of the Mont Blanc from the Hulotte room!
You have made us feel like family and we very much look forward to retuning one day with the rest of our families and maybe once in winter to enjoy some sport!
Thank you again for making every detail so wonderful and for allowing us, with our friends the Stappers, to celebrate such an occasion in such a location.
Hope to see you again in the future, best regards,

After 9 weeks in Italy + France, we have had the privilege to have 4 days (not enough!) at La Chouette with you. The best was saved for the last, for sure. Thank you so much for your wonderful hospitality. You make every person feel special and devote yourselves to making sure they have an enjoyable stay.
On this, the day of our departure back to Australia, + after some very cold, snowy + stormy weather, Mt. Blanc is visible in all its glory, and, on our way to Geneva Airport, we are going up to the "Aiguille du Midi"; to end our holiday on a real high!!
Thank you again? Take good care of yourselves, God bless, beaucoup de "love"

It has been a pleasure staying here. I loved it. I watched yhe pictures on the wall for a long time. The owls were a great theme. If only we could of stayed here longer. When my mom and dad told me that we were going to be here, I thought I wouldn't like it, but I was completly wrong.

Dear Ed and Marischka
Thanks so much for a wonderful experience. Your hospitality and grace made staying in a foreign land more like being at home. One of the joys of traveling is discovering more about oneself. I got to discover I have a Dutch family!
All the best and we hope to see you before too many months pass.

Beste Marischka en Ed en Charie, beste Marja en Duco
This is the most difficult moment of the trip for me. Not only we have to leave, but I am sure I will not be able to find the right words to express how much we enjoyed our vacation here. And I know Marja will not like my writing!!! Jikes. Oh well.....
How could vacation like that be better? Seems impossible!: great people, great food, great view, great place, great village, great weather, great paragliding. And did I mention the great people and the great food? What a wonderful experience to wake up in the morning looking at the Mont Blanc, and then have a solid, tasty breakfast, laughing with people! Ofcourse the discussion about the goat was very constructive, but I am afraid I am still unconvinced.........
We already cannot wait to come back. I am glad this time I could come with my family. and hopefully we'll be able to repeat this amazing vacation again and again.
Thank you, merci, Bon courage, bonne continuation Irène

If you ever feel like a clear mountain air, skiing or hiking, I have a great trip for you. I am talking about Plateau d'Assy, a place not far away from Geneva or Annecy or Chamonix. One hospitable Dutch couple decided to turn a former hotel into a nice Bed & Breakfast place called "Gite la Chouette". Placed 1000m above sealevel, you will wake up into a beautiful morning with a view of Mt Blanc and the mountains around.
They have opened just now in December. Everything is fresh and ready to be "exploited". They will pick you up in Geneva or any other place close by! It is a good base for winter skiing and summer hiking. Big competitive advantage of their place is that, unlike surrounding French places, they can speak English, German, Dutch and French to you. Just check that out!
