Challenging winter week 5 days guided by a mountain guide

In this week you will stay at the Gîte on half board and
during 5 days you will be guided by the local guide François Peyron for challenging winter activities.


Examples of the guided days you find below. Any combination of activities is possible.

1st day















Descent of the famous off-pist glacier "Vallée Blanche", in Chamonix, 25 minutes far from the Gîte.
First we takea 2 parts cable-car to the altitude of 3800m.
There you have a fantastic view on the Alps in Switzerland, Italy and Franche (many people are going there just for the views).
Then a 15 minutes of descending walk, taken with a rope, provided by the guide, leading to 15 possible different routes, from equivalent level to red slopes (in good conditions) to very steep slopes.



Number of customers per guide: classical Vallée Blanche up to 6 people (8 in good conditions).
The classical route isn't advised to snow boarders, because not steep enough and crossing on 75% harder routes: 4,5 people.
What you need: skis or board, warm clothes, telescopic sticks advised to boarders, backpack with water.
Provided by the guide: all the safety hardware, avalanche devices, harness, rope…
Available for non skiers: 2 days walk, sleeping in a hut, kept by a guardian who cooks. Snowshoes necessary.
2nd day











Guided Skitour Randonnee ski for beginners. From the Gîte 15 min. by car. Then 20 min. by lifts. Then a 3 hours walk leading to "Pointe du Pormenaz", for example. Ascending is available only adding removable skins under ski's and with randonnee bindings allowing to rise the heel during the ascent. Then for descend, the bindings are fixed exactly like classical bindings.
As usually beautiful points of views, wild areas, very few others who ski. Sometimes animals.

Number of customers per guide: up to 5 people
What you need: Good physical condition required.
                        Backpack 30 liters for drinks, food, clothes during the ascent.
                        Randonnee skis and skins (to rent in local shops).
Provided by the guide: Avalanche devices.
Available for experienced skiers:Randonnee ski, starting from the stations or outside these, several days and sleeping in hut possible.
3rd day









Great off-pist in Grand-Montets or Courmayeur area, depending on the weather, snow conditions. Courmayeur is on the South side of the Mont Blanc. 45 min to 1 hour by car. Famous off-pist routes either on glacier, in the forest, over snow fields. At least 10 stations available from 1000m to 3300m in altitude.

Provided by the guide: Avalanche devices.
4th day













 		Rackets discovery. Either starting from the Gîte or taking the car and lifts, it's nice to walk in the quiet snowy forest and at higher altitude for the beautiful views on the Mont Blanc and high alpine summit's.

Number of customers per guide: up to 10 people
What you need: Snow shoes and sticks (to rent in local shops).
Provided by the guide: Avalanche devices, if necessary.
5th day













 		Ice falls climbs. Available from december to february in case of low temperatures.

Number of customers per guide:
                Beginners: up to 5 people.
Experienced alpinists: 2 people for several pitches routes.
(Gully's and winter alpinism available even without low temperatures, but at higher altitude).
What you need: Mountain shoes and crampons (to rent in local shops)
Provided by the guide: ice axes, install ropes, teaching ice climbing.

This week contains:
— 7 days stay at the Gîte with breakfast,
— 7 times a 4 course dinner, ¼l wine and coffee/tea,
— 5 days a local guide who speaks English,
— arrival on Saturday before dinner,
— leaving Saturday after breakfast,
— The guide will be available beginning Monday until Friday.

The price (p.p.) of this winter week arrangement is based on the participation of a minimum of 4 people.
By lesser people ask for prices.
